Agreement in principle for professionals of the Kativik School Board
Montréal, December 15, 2017 – On Thursday, December 14, the Fédération des professionnelles et professionnels de l’éducation du Québec (FPPE-CSQ) and the Syndicat des professionnelles et professionnels de l’Ouest de Montréal (SPPOM-CSQ) concluded an agreement in principle at the sectoral table for professional staff of the Kativik School Board.
“More than two years following the settlement of other public sector tables, the FPPE-CSQ was finally able to make headway in representing the particular culture of our northern members,” commented FPPE-CSQ president, Johanne Pomerleau.
Indeed, despite a slow start to negotiations, the parties were finally able to reach an agreement, just in time for the holidays.
“Certain advances will help attract and retain more professionals in the education system, which was the goal the Fédération set at the very start of the bargaining. Members will be consulted about this agreement in principle in the coming weeks,” added Carolane Desmarais, SPPOM-CSQ president.
