NATURE DU TRAVAIL
L’emploi d’animatrice ou animateur de vie étudiante comporte plus spécifiquement des fonctions d’organisation, d’animation et d’accompagnement des élèves pour la conception, la réalisation et l’évaluation de programmes d’activités en lien avec le projet éducatif et le plan de réussite de l’établissement, et ce, dans une perspective de développement intégral de l’élève par la création d’un milieu accueillant et dynamique.
QUELQUES ATTRIBUTIONS CARACTÉRISTIQUES
L’animatrice ou l’animateur de vie étudiante évalue les besoins d’activités du milieu en consultant les élèves, les intervenantes et intervenants scolaires et les partenaires impliqués et identifie les disponibilités du réseau; elle ou il identifie les besoins en ressources humaines et matérielles; elle ou il planifie, organise et anime ou coordonne diverses activités socioculturelles, sportives et éducatives.
Elle ou il facilite la tenue d’événements rassembleurs et soutient l’organisation d’activités thématiques; elle ou il amène les élèves à s’impliquer dans l’organisation des activités et à y participer.
Elle ou il participe au recrutement du personnel et des bénévoles associés à la réalisation et la bonne marche des activités, coordonne et supervise leur travail; elle ou il participe à la planification et au suivi budgétaire des activités qu’elle ou il organise; elle ou il évalue les activités et produit un rapport.
Elle ou il s’assure de la disponibilité et du bon état du matériel et voit à la mise à jour de l’inventaire; elle ou il participe à la négociation d’ententes avec des partenaires pour l’utilisation d’espaces ou de services.
Elle ou il collabore avec les intervenantes et intervenants scolaires; elle ou il participe avec le personnel enseignant à l’organisation et la réalisation d’activités associées aux cours offerts aux élèves : compétitions sportives, voyages-échanges, théâtre et autres.
Elle ou il peut être appelé à développer et maintenir des liens avec des groupes ou organismes partenaires afin d’assurer la complémentarité des activités pédagogiques et parascolaires et, à l’occasion, représenter l’établissement lors de certaines activités.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES
Diplôme universitaire terminal de premier cycle dans un champ de spécialisation approprié comportant notamment des cours dans les domaines suivants :
- éducation physique;
- récréologie;
- andragogie;
- génagogie;
- animation.
The position of student life animator encompasses, in particular, responsibility for carrying out organization and facilitation activities and for providing guidance to students in the development, delivery and evaluation of programs of activities related to an institution’s educational project and success plan focussing on the integral development of the student and the creation of a welcoming and dynamic environment.
SOME CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
The student life animator evaluates the community’s needs in terms of activities by consulting students, school resources and the partners concerned and identifies available resources in the network; he or she determines the needs in human and material resources; he or she plans, organizes and delivers or coordinates various sociocultural, sport and educational activities.
He or she facilitates the holding of large-group events and helps with the organization of theme activities, and encourages students not only to become involved in the organization of the activities, but to take part in the activities as well.
He or she participates in the recruitment of staff and volunteers associated with the delivery and smooth operation of the activities; coordinates and supervises their work; takes part in the planning and budgetary follow-up of the activities he or she organizes, evaluates the activities and prepares a report.
He or she ensures that materials are available and in good condition and keeps an up-to-date inventory. He or she participates in the negotiation of agreements with partners for the use of space and services.
He or she collaborates with school resources and participates with teachers in the organization and delivery of activities associated with the courses offered to students: sports competitions, exchange trips, theatre and other activities.
He or she may be called upon to develop and maintain relations with partner groups or organizations so as to ensure the complementarity of pedagogical and extracurricular activities and, on occasion, represent the institution during certain activities.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty that consists mainly of courses in the following areas:
- physical education;
- recreology;
- andragogy;
- genagogy;
- group facilitation.
